About Jakkur Lake
A rehabilitated lake with a treatment wetland and a long bund. The open water and reed edges attract fish-eaters, ducks and waders, and the long walkway makes it comfortable to watch from.
History
Restored in recent decades with a sewage-fed wetland treating inflow, and held up as a model for lake rejuvenation in the city.
Flora
Reeds, sedges and floating plants at the edges, with babul and other trees on the bund.
Fauna
Turtles, fish, frogs and dragonflies. Small mammals use the scrub at the edges.

Tips
- Walk the bund slowly; many birds sit in the reed edge, not on open water.
- Carry a light jacket: the lake is cool before sunrise.
- Dogs and noise drive birds off. Keep distance.
